Written Steps

1
Request a Channel
Contact the It's Buzzing team to provision your school's Alumni Channel. You'll need your school name, slug (e.g. 'uab-blazers'), official colors (hex codes), conference, and mascot.
2
Set Up Your Channel Profile
Once provisioned, go to /admin/alumni to see your channel. Click it to open the dashboard. Update the logo, hero banner, and social share image from the channel detail page.
3
Enable Features
From your channel dashboard, toggle the features your school wants: Subscription (membership tiers), Sponsor Packages, NIL Shows, Fan Q&A, and Leaderboard. Each can be turned on independently.
4
Create Your First Watch Party
Go to Admin → Alumni → [Your Channel] → Create Event. Enter the title, sport, opponent, scheduled start time, and access level (Public, Members, Supporter, Insider, or Digital Booster). Paste a stream URL if you have one — it becomes the first video source automatically. A BuzzDrop countdown is also created. After saving you land on the event detail page where you manage all video sources.
5
Add Video Sources
Each watch party supports multiple video sources. From the event detail page (/admin/alumni/[slug]/events/[id]), click 'Add Source' and choose the type: NFHS Network, YouTube, HLS Live Stream, Uploaded Replay, Facebook Live, Vimeo, Zoom, or External TV. Paste the URL — YouTube links are normalized to embed format automatically. NFHS always opens as an external link (never embedded or restreamed). Fans see a source-picker strip and can switch between sources without a page reload. Click counts are tracked per source.
6
Add Sponsor Slots
Go to Admin → Alumni → [Your Channel] → Sponsors. Click 'Add Sponsor'. Fill in sponsor name, asset URL (logo/banner image), click-through URL, slot type (Banner shows in the top strip; Sidebar overlays the stream), priority, and whether it's tied to a specific watch party or all events.
7
Set Up Membership Tiers
Membership pricing is set in Stripe. Once your three Stripe price IDs are configured (Supporter $9/mo, Insider $19/mo, Digital Booster $49/mo), fans can join at /alumni/[slug]/join. Free membership is always available with no Stripe required.
8
Create Athlete Shows
Go to Admin → Alumni → [Your Channel] → Create Show. Add the athlete or host name, show title, description, schedule, and access level. Shows appear in the /alumni/[slug]/shows tab for fans to browse.
9
Manage the Q&A Queue
Fans submit video questions via the watch party page. Go to Admin → Alumni → [Your Channel] → Q&A Queue to review submissions. Move approved questions through stages: Approved → Green Room → Live → Completed.
10
Monitor Analytics
Go to Admin → Alumni → [Your Channel] → Analytics to see fan points, engagement events, leaderboard standings, and sponsor impression/click data. Per-sponsor reports are available at Admin → Sponsor Report.
11
Share Your Channel
Your public channel lives at itsbuzzing.com/alumni/[slug]. Share the link, post the QR code on game day social, and link it from your athletic department website. Fans can join for free or choose a paid tier.
